The Fantastic Purple Pixie

This is an entry for a contest over on DeviantArt. The theme is 'Dreams' as in the goals and aspirations sort. When I was a little kid I, like many other kids, wanted to be a superhero. As an adult, I still kind of want to be a superhero, but I'd settle for professional comic book illustrator too. Wish me luck. :)  

Owls and Squirrels

I've taken to going over to the park, perching in my favorite spot along the side of the railroad bridge where I won't be bothered, and doodling in my sketchbook. The park is currently over run with squirrels getting ready for winter, so I sketched a few. I didn't see any owls but I drew some for fun anyway. They look like they want to eat the squirrels.

Self portrait, should do more of these, they are a good exercise. Done in Photoshop with a mirror on my desk for reference. Weird for me to do something like this digital but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I felt that I needed to do some original work. That bug in my head telling me I could be better than I am was screaming today. So, I picked up my brushes and... this happened. I am being entirely honest when I say I did not set out to paint something this morbid. It just sort of evolved out of my ever present love of all things figure drawing and some referencing of my gestures. My mind is going to strange places lately. I suppose this is just a manifestation.

Encylcopedia Humania entry 01: The Hipster (female)

The beginning of a personal project. I want to make a humorous 'scientific journal' of various 'species' humans. This is a hipster female. Native to Williamsburg brooklyn. Diet consists of wheat grass, expensive vegan muffins, cigarettes, and organic fair trade coffee served by a person with a facial piercing and asymmetrical haircut.
